The food truck trend has hit almost every culinary delight. Take your pick: korean, chinese, Vietnamese, BBQ, cupcakes, ice cream, (see a full list here). One of those choices includes sushi from Fishlips Sushi Truck, who we caught at the recent Buff Monster signing.
So far, Yelpers dig it and to us, sushi tastes great while inebriated after a night at the bars. Considering most sushi restaurants don't stay open late into the night, Fishlips is a welcome truck to any street corner. What do you think?

I like it a lot - and I like that you can see them cooking, so you can see the quality of the fish.
So I'm okay with it. :D
Im down with some cali rolls at 2am~
I think that sushi is no where near greasy or substantial enough for drunk food. But I have no problem with a sushi truck. They seem to have veggie options, too.
i totally agree about the greasiness factor - gimme a burrito dripping in sauce any night.
This truck was just outside my office and I picked up a set box.
It was really slow (about 50 minutes to get my food and about 20 orders in front of me, so maybe not too bad) and it tastes alright. It's not great but definitely better than the usual stuff.
Only if it comes to my apartment.
I think "Rolling Fish" would be a catchier name for it.
Yeah, Fishlips is not exactly an attractive word when it comes to what I'll be putting between my lips.
EXACTLY! The concept's great but when I saw them on AbbotKinney at the last 1st Friday and my stomach did a nasty flip from that name.
Really poor choice. And worse, I then had that dumb song "Fish heads, fish head, roly poly fish heads..." in my head for hours
lets make a sushi truck called "Roll Call"
Umm, I vote for "Urban Sushi."
Yes I love this idea! I like that you can see what's going on inside and see how clean the truck is. With places like Famima! offering perfectly good sushi, I see no problem with a truck. I hope it comes to my neighborhood (mid-Wilshire).
I had it for lunch today, and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. I consider myself to be a sushi enthusiast. I was born in Japan and was raised on it. It's great quality for lunch or a late night snack. I'd say the quality two notches higher than the packaged sushi at Mitsuwa Market.
The line wasn't too bad today. Got my food in under 5 minutes.
