Latin heavyweights light up Hollywood Bowl tonight starting at 8 PM. Brazilian great Sergio Mendes joins forces with the Puerto Rican piano master Eddie Palmieri and congaist Poncho Sanchez team up for a great night of tropical music. You won't be disappointed.
COMEDY
The Crown Bar in Santa Monica delivers some comic relief for the midweek blues. The Laugh Factory's Jay Davis and Adam Hunter of The Last Comic Standing fame play host at tonight's comedy night, featuring up-and-coming and more well known comedians. A live DJ keeps things going in between sets and if you are lucky, you might see a guest performer. No cover, but there is a two drink minimum.
LEARN
World War II heroes are the focus point at the California African American Museum's exhibit Tuskegee Airmen: The Journey To Flight. The exhibit features a collection of photographs and a variety of artifacts paying tribute to the famed group of pilots that helped win important battles in the Mediterranean and North African. Through November 1st.

Detroit may be the place where cars are made, but love it or hate it, L.A. is where cars reign supreme. The Southern California car culture has influenced everything from the way that food is served to the very designs of cars themselves and everything in between. California Car Design: Local Style, Global Influence at The Petersen Automotive Museum takes a look at the wide variety of designs inspired within our great State throughout the years. Through February 7th.
