Photos: Jackson's Casket Moved to Staples from Forest Lawn in Brisk Motorcade

In plans that were revealed only this morning, Michael Jackson's casket journeyed from the private family service held around 8:30 a.m. at Forest Lawn in the Hollywood Hills to inside the Staples Center where it was put on display during the public memorial.

Although it was perhaps an idea to transport the coffin via helicopter, the gold-plated coffin was moved more traditionally via hearse as part of the motorcade of mourners making the trip from the Burbank area to Downtown. The motorcade, however, was accommodated by a very non-traditional complete shut-down of Los Angeles freeways. Onlookers from overpasses saw the caravan and the hearse move briskly on emptied stretches of road usually heavily trafficked.

It's rumored that he was actually buried last night.

Was there a big Easy button on the casket? Joe Jackson's gotta get those sponsorship dollars while he can

There's no way he was really in that casket.
