LAst Night's Action: Dodgers Marquis Loss

Colorado Rockies defeat LA Dodgers 3-0. In the race for win number 10, Chad Billingsley came up on the short end against Jason Marquis. He didn't do a terrible job giving up three runs on five hits and three walks in 7 2/3 innings. The problem was that Marquis was better pitching a complete game two-hit shutout on only 86 pitches while walking no one. With the Dodgers offense sputtering, Friday is looking brighter as the days go by.

Texas Rangers defeat LA Angels 9-5. Joe Saunders hates pitching in Arlington. He gave up eight runs in 3 2/3 innings pitched. With that he has now lost in all of his five starts in Arlington and has racked up an 11.68 ERA.

You know you're a long time Dodgers fan when a starting pitcher can go 8 innings with 11 K's and only 3 earned runs and still get the loss and you're not all that surprised.

Here's hoping Manny brings Martin and Furcal out of their slumps. I'm sure Blake will be back to normal after the all-star break.

You're spot on. I would like to say that their recent offensive slump is surprising, but we all knew it would happen at some point.
