TV Junkie: French TV Feels US Invasion

better-off-ted1.jpg
"Better Off Ted" back from hiatus at 9:00pm on ABC
As we said a couple weeks ago, we went to France for a couple weeks where we didn't watch much French TV because, well, there really wasn't anything worth watching other than the French Open and Manchester United vs. Barcelona. Now our uneducated opinion has supporting proof: in 2008 only 13 of the top 100 scripted TV shows in France were actually French. American-produced TV programs took the biggest slice at 57. Who says we don't export anything?

Really not a fan of TV in general. (In fact, the shows that I do watch are all online)

That said "Better of Ted" is completely *awesome*.

Also, can't help but give a big shout out for "Glee" - the best pilot i think I've seen in like *ever*!

Meh. Better Than Ted is okay. I'm only watching cause I like Portia de Rossi. I still actually have quite a few eps (like 4?) on the DVR.

umm doi,
B-off-Ted is a show to be watched with belief suspended rather than intellect. : ]

it's escapist nerdism. the writing's clever (though not believable).

I do like the fake commercials they have for Veridian Dynamics. They remind me of the commercials for the We-Say-So corporation on Dinosaurs about 15 years ago.

thx for your comments

Interesting to hear a vote for "Glee", I think they did great promo for the show but didn't follow up on it which makes me think it was just schedule filler for FOX

Glee is coming back in the fall. They just wanted to promo the full-length pilot they showed a few weeks back. But expect a full season to be on the schedule come September, with more promos.

The Veridian Dynamics commercials are fantastic! I personally know some idiot business people who thought they were real and would love to have the same commercials for their business.

The best parts of the show tread on the "line" for those who buy into the corporate office mirage.
