For the fourth time in recent months, the City Council's Transportation Committee tomorrow will take on a handful of bicycle issues continued on from last week's meeting. Consultants from Alta Planning are slated to speak about the bicycle plan, which has recently become an unpopular subject with many cyclists. The LAPD will also be present to talk about their relationship with the bicycling community. Also on the dock is the continuing look at reviving a version of the defunct bicycle licensing program, which many believe should be left to the private sector.
Issues not brought onto tomorrow's agenda from last week include dealing with abandoned bicycles on city racks and the consideration of banning sidewalk riding within city limits.

In the current riot videos on this site and available on the web it is clear that some elements of protesters in Iran are acting violently. For example in the death of Iranians by the Basij office it is clear that one person sets the building on fire, another screams “they ran out of bullets attack the building” and someone else in the background throws a gasoline bomb at the Basij office. The Baisj and the military are Iranians also. This is not how Iran won the last regime change under the Shah. Iranians for the most part are peaceful protesters from what I have seen. In every video that folks are throwing rocks it is also clear a number of folks that stand in between the rock throwers and the police to stop the violence

Is it called a "panal" because it's a pain in the ass to sit through?
Surprisingly enough, there are some *federal* dollars to be had for urban areas that get their act together and go after them.
Bikes Belong:. a National organization that advocates *federal* funding for bike issues.

It's also kind of amazing that an urban, working class neighborhood like Long Beach is able to get it's act together enough to have an amazing array of bike paths - enough to receive a Bronze rating from the league of american bicyclists.
League of American Bicyclists:. National Bike Advocacy Organization.
