The Grove and Americana developer Rick Caruso had another project approved today by the LA City Council. A new 88-unit apartment complex with a Trader Joe's on the first floor will be built at Burton Way and La Doux Road near the La Cienega/San Vicente intersection. "Between this project, and the recently completed SLS Hotel, the neighborhood is definitely seeing some significant changes," noted Curbed LA, who has project renderings.

okay but what about downtown? I WANNA GO TO TJS CONVENIENTLY!
WHAAH!
But seriously, please open one in dt!
actually, I think Macarthur Park, price wise is probably more realistic. Could you imagine one, right near the 99 cent store? easy access from Red or Purple line for downtownies!
Let's start a petition, or letter writing campaign.
No, not ironically. *seriously*. ; >
Awwwww...damn you Caruso!!! We need a Trader Joe's in Downtown. DOWNTOWN!!!
Le sigh.
Great. More traffic in that area.
I'm not sure what kind of Trader Joe's hookups Beverly Hills has, but there are already TJs at Santa Monica near LaBrea, Third and LaBrea, Crescent Heights and Sunset, and soon to be Vine and Selma. So Hollywood and WeHo are well represented. Echoing everyone else, they should move to a better location. Though it seems, while they are cheap and wholesome, maybe they don't want THOSE kind of people shopping in their store? The kind that shop at Food4Less, Jon's or Vallarta? Their placement would suggest such.
ummm. you said it.
being a cyclist who shops at TJ's. they really *don't* encourage the hardworking bargain proletariats types.
I am kind of amazed there is no TJs downtown yet. However, I have a feeling we're not far from hearing such an announcement.
retail density is what we should be striving for in LA. if anything, the placement of a TJs at that corner will make a very walkable neighborhood even more so. i work near there, and always see a ton of residents and people from Cedars strolling up/down Robertson, 3rd, or near the Beverly Center.
the more TJs that saturate an area, the less we're subjected to parking situations like that horrible location on Pico in Santa Monica.
I WANT A TJ'S DOWNTOWN TOO!!!!!
*** (note to Trader Joe's mgmt.) I currently make the one hour round trip to 3rd and La Brea via the Metro #16 bus only when I absolutely have to have something I can't get anywhere but TJ's. Otherwise I shop at downtown Raplh's. You're missing out on most of my business because given the choice I would much rather be shopping at TJ's.
There are general "city downtown plan" meetings this week.
People could perhaps show up and just chant "Trader Joe's".
Downtown PLan Speakup
Ah ha ha. I like the way you think treeVerb.
