In spite of being well off the beaten path, the San Antonio Winery has long been a destination for locals and tourists alike. Now in addition to their famous tour, popular restaurant, banquet facilities and wine shop, the winery is offering special events.
Last night A Summer Tequila Tasting was held at the winery. In addition to innovative and delicious food and a wide array of quality tequilas, guests were treated to an informative lecture. The farming of agave, distillation and aging of the spirits, and tasting tips were presented by Alfonso Lujan of 100% Tequila Magazine and Michael Papalia of San Antonio Winery. The next event will be "Wines from Down Under" presented Sunday July 12 from noon until 3pm.

I sort of randomly found myself at San Antonio yesterday, because I was in the neighborhood (I know that sounds weird) and I was sad I missed this! They are doing a lunch with Australian and New Zealand wines next month, though, which my boyfriend and I might be interested in, since he used to live in NZ.
