Remember these people at the Oscars? It's the infamous Kansas-based Westboro Baptist Church and they are protesting various locations in Los Angeles tomorrow including Fairfax High School, a Jewish temple, a community center and the Anti-Defamation League's headquarters, according to the LA Times.
"We're here to warn you," a young woman told an LAist Featured Photos contributor on video outside the Academy Awards last February. "I'm picketing the Oscars because the entertainment industry in this country is just one of the pieces, one of the institutions, that you're using to promote sin and filth and rebellion against the commendants and standards of God."
Fairfax High School has been targeted because of Sergio Garcia, the gay student who was crowned as Prom Queen last month. A counter protest is planned as well. Both protests will happen around 12:15 p.m.
"Strange as it may seem, in my work in diverse Jewish communities, people will sometimes ask me why should they care about LGBT issues, as 'we don’t have any here' or that things are so much better these days for gays, why are they complaining?" noted Dr. Joel L. Kushner, Director of the Institute for Judaism and Sexual Orientation at Hebrew Union College in LA. "Perhaps they don’t read the paper. Hate crimes and violence against LGBT people are at an all time high this year and how could they have missed Prop 8?"

I am here to let the students of Fairfax High know that I in no way am suggesting that they greet these WBC freaks with a well-deserved egging.
How do these people get the money to travel to all these places together? I have wondered that.

What I don't understand - if the Jews killed Jesus, but Jesus is only THE Jesus because he came back from the dead...didn't we do him & his followers a favor? (this of course assumes Jews actually killed Jesus when it was Roman public policy, etc. etc.)
