Extra, Extra: WE are the Champions!

The Lakers celebrated their 15th World Championship with a parade from the Staples Center to a HUGE party at the Coliseum. Great times were had by all and only minor trouble was reported. However three children did get separated from their family during the festivities.
Of course today's parade party was made possible because of donations made by business leaders including the group that owns the Staple Center AEG . The estimated $900,000 price tag was pledged for police and fire services and ensured that no tax money will be spent. Maybe they can get a group of similarly deep-pocketed people to donate to say... the LAUSD? Just a thought...
Burbank Police have arrested a driving instructor for allegedly exposing himself. Officials are investigating but no charges have been filed as of yet. He was released on $35,000 bail and is scheduled to appear in Burbank Superior Court.
What's that smell??? Oh yeah, the Corpse Flower, named because of the sickly stench it gives off, bloomed today at the Huntington Library and Gardens.
After officials reported about a HIV outbreak among porn stars, they are now taking a step back from that statement. Apparently, the agency does not know whether any of the people who were reported infected were working in porn at the time of their positive test.
The EPA confirmed that a lawsuit was filed by a homeowner's association against the Walt Disney Co. claiming that they dumped wastewater containing the carcinogen chromium-6.
In an effort to eliminate confusion, the LAPD moved to prohibit retired police officers from wearing their uniforms and badges at film shoots. The LAPD wants to reduce their liability if something goes wrong, but filmmakers say not having them there "looking" like real cops hinders their ability to film their movies and could force them to move elsewhere to shoot.
