If you've been by Los Angeles State Historic Park in the past week, you've likely noticed a gigantic red-and-white-striped big top tent. Perhaps you wondered why a tent would be necessary in LA, the stationary circus town in which you live.
But this time, we implore you to take a closer look. The circus is in town this month and it's not your grandmother's circus. LA-based Cirque Berzerk is returning to the old "Not a Cornfield" state park for a 20-show run over two weeks starting June 18th. Get your tickets now for an unforgettable night of fire, aerobatics, burlesque, clowning, original music and dance under the bizarro big top.
Cirque Berzerk took over the park last July as well -- a short run that was extended -- for their mesmerizing show "Beneath" (check out the clips below and the photoessay here). This year's show is in eight acts: Lust, Death, Fire, Siren, Debonair, Skin, Evil, Flight.
Tickets for Cirque Berzerk are on sale now, with shows Thursday through Sundays June 18 - July 5 (two shows Fri, Sat, and Sun nights). Your ticket includes pre- and post-parties in the park.

I was wondering what that big tent was all about.
I noticed it when I was up on N. Broadway Sunday getting a bowl of pho.
The great 18 piece soul/folk/jazz band Vaud and the Villains will be playing at the after parties for these shows - don't miss them!
So if we go this weekend it supports the "don't close state parks" movement right? I'm there!
The show has been extended thru July 26th!! Also, please note, the show times have now changed on Fridays and Sundays. Starting June 25th, Cirque Berzerk will offer five shows per 4-day weekend. The new schedule includes one performance on Thursdays and Fridays at 8:30pm, two on Saturdays at 7:00 and 10:00pm, and one show on Sunday at 8:00pm.
The show ends this weekend -- August 9th. If you haven't seen the show yet ... c'mon down!
