Traffic Alert: Law Enforcement Torch Run to Cross City Today

Torchrun.ABout.jpg

From Culver City to the West Valley, police officers will be supporting the Special Olympics today in a torch relay from the Westside and South LA through Hollywood and across the south rim of the Valley. It's all for a good cause--raising money and awareness--but it will cause traffic.

It began this morning at 6 a.m. with the Culver City Police Department soon to hand off the torch to the LAPD, who will run it to South Gate. From there, it will hit Bell Gardens and Huntington Park before making its way back to South LA around 11 a.m. Then its northward towards the Cahunega Pass and by 3 p.m., Ventura Blvd. will be its sole path until 6 p.m., ending in Woodland Hills.

Tomorrow, the torch run will continue circling the rim of the valley towards Burbank and Glendale, eventually ending in the San Gabriel Valley. On Thursday, it's on to East LA, downtown and back to Hollywood and through WeHo, Beverly Hills and ending in Santa Monica. Friday will end the Los Angeles portion of the event as it makes its way down the coast to Long Beach.
