Word of the Taco Zone truck that parks near Vons in Echo Park being on fire spread in much the same manner as the blaze last night via Twitter and food-centric message boards.

City Council President Eric Garcetti noted the fire and Tweeted the incident: "Taco truck at Von's is on fire. Called it in. Just down the street from where drunk driver struck two officers on Sunset in Echo Park."

The fire happened around midnight, and according to one Chowhound poster, no one was hurt. They added:

The women who had been working in the truck said that vandals had thrown gasoline onto it. The fire was first noticeable on the roof of the truck and then spread to the front. The Fire Department came within a few minutes and put out the fire [...] Everyone in the parking lot was afraid the burning truck was going to explode.
