Weekend Movie Guide: I Have a Hangover! Get Lost!

Buzz on the The Hangover is so hot that Warner Brothers is already moving ahead on a sequel before the film is even released. Every summer a comedy breaks out of nowhere to be a huge hit. Will this be the one? It probably won't be Land of the Lost. By most accounts, it's a Bewitched Will Ferrell flick instead of an Anchorman one. Away We Go will not work for everyone since it's so amazingly precious. Then again, what else would you expect from the hipster triumvirate of Dave Eggers | Sam Mendes | John Krasinski?

So what has Nia Vardalos been up to since taking the world by storm with My Big Fat Greek Wedding? Apparently, she has not been coming up with good ideas. Connie and Carla was okay (anything with Toni Collette is at least okay), but My Life in Ruins is being savaged by critics. The same can be said for Downloading Nancy. I saw it at Sundance, and it was hands-down the most depressing film of the festival. And not in a good way. Susan Boyle would definitely take some comfort from seeing the wonderful Seraphine.

"hipster triumvirate"???
Pretty sure Eggers was out around 2005/2006, Sam Mendes started getting dissed somewhere between Road to Perdition (2002) and Jarhead (2005), and John Krasinski (The Office is primetime NBC for the love of accuracy) is about as mainstream as you get?

Can we please stop using "hipster" to refer to anything that just came into being commercial mainstream having just come from under the radar?
