Yesterday the blog Serious Lunch found that Conan's background seems based off the Mario Bros. Mushroom Kingdom. And boy, it looks like they were right.
"That's great," Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime told Kotaku. "We know that he is a fan of what we do, and we're thrilled to have him as a passionate Nintendo fan. Maybe we'll have to go play some Wii Sports Resort as well as Super Mario Bros Wii."
Fils-Aime said no cease and desist will be issued to NBC.

And if you think Nintendo had no idea, you're naive. Especially because Conan's 1st weeks of shows was the same week as E3. Everything in media these days is about partnerships and integrated marketing. Nothing like this is a 'coincidence' or a cute accident.
