Now the Times has debuted these updated maps, and are still looking for commentary, much like what they heard about the initial maps. "We hope to keep that conversation going. Please use these pages to tell us more about the places you live," requests the Times, and then dangles a carrot to those beyond the boundaries: "For those who live in Southern California, but outside the city of Los Angeles, stay tuned. We plan to bring you the same type of community pages in the coming months."

This says I live in Porter Ranch, but my neighborhood council is still "Northridge West". Porter Ranch is above the 118. It needs to stay there.
Agreed. That below the 118 Porter Ranch thing seems to be very old school and something I hardly hear people refer to who live on either side of the freeway. Even ask the city council office about this one.
HAHA. I live in Mid City, just like I always KNEW. Actually, I'm probably one of the 3 people who submitted it as a neighborhood, so take THAT LA times.
I still think they miss the mark on the nuanced neighborhoods of Los Angeles.
But what do I know? I'm just a wayward City Nerd.
