- Two young boys were killed and two others hurt in a house fire in Rialto. Family members say the boys ran to a bathroom with their dog and were overcome by smoke inhalation. Two adults and a 1 year old girl were already outside the house when firefighters arrived.
- A former TMZ photographer is suing Britney Spears for running over his foot in 2007. He claims Spears negligently operated her car and committed assault and battery.
- The Governator is planning for more cuts to state program budgets. Schools, healthcare and welfare programs will bear the brunt of the $2.8 billion proposal.
- A second Gold Rush? The troubled economy has people heading for the hills... to prospect for gold. There are even websites that advertise field trips!
- A judge decided that Blue Shield of California acted properly in canceling coverage of someone seriously injured in an accident. The problem was the people lied to the insurance company when applying for coverage way before the accident. Now, they face not only paying the $500,000+ for the accident, but also paying BACK over $100,000 that Blue Shield initially paid them.
- A former State Assembly speaker and a former LA County DA are co-chairing the transition team for the LA City Attorney-elect Carmen Trutanich. Trutanich takes over July 1st and until then a lot of shuffling and preparation is taking place.
- LAStreetsBlog shows how LA's "Bike Culture" was featured in Bicycling Magazine.
- A sketch has been released of the murderer of a high school football star in Compton. The suspect is believed to be between 17 and 21 years old.
- Finally... Wikipedia is banning all contributions from the Church of Scientology. No IP addresses owned or operated by them or their associates will be allowed to post or edit on the site because they are pushing their own agenda.
