Gay Guy Becomes Fairfax High's Prom Queen

fairfax_high_gay_prom_queen.png "At one time, prom may have been a big popularity contest where the best-looking guy or girl were crowned king and queen. Things have changed and it's no longer just about who has the most friends or who wears the coolest clothes," said Sergio Garcia, who beat out girls to be this year's prom queen, in his campaign to become prom queen, something he said was more of a stunt in the first place. "Sure, I'm not your typical prom queen candidate. There's more to me than meets the eye." At the prom, he'll be wearing a suit.

That's awesome!

This makes me proud to have been a fairfax high student.

This couldn't have come at a better time. I hope this is a sign of better tolerance in the future of CA.

Yea, this is excellent.

Maybe at some point in time in the future he can marry his high school sweetheart, the one he took to prom.

not only is the young man going down the wrong path; he's also taking so many innocent souls with him. Shame on you. pbwhit

pbwhit, it's so sad you follow the hateful path of Satan instead of the loving path of Jesus, who embraced those the rest of society would cast aside as morally objectionable.

I totaly agree with you, the devil has built an army - I feel as LA represents the biblical cities in which was destroyed by fire - S & G- Help us all as we should not be so supportive a lifestyle which has so much sin representation

This is such a lame attempt at profundity, without accomplishing anything except re-enforcing a stereotype. The gay guy has to be Queen because he's effeminate, right? He couldn't possibly be King and send the message that people shouldn't be treated differently based on their sexual preference.

This kid makes empty announcements about it being meaningful in some way, but never explains it beyond vague allusions to "sparking discussion". He's got nothing to say.

The truth is that he did it for attention, and it worked. That's all. This kid is no activist.

My thoughts exactly. Not to mention the underlying misogyny.

Save it for the parades and drag clubs.

I think it's a good sign for the future. At least our children are embracing tolerance.

Go Gays! (GG = Good Game).

Gays are like a handbag full of harmonicas for California. They don't procreate and add to burgeoning population that needs public education, etc. They gentrify. They (usually) have good taste and style.

This guy looks worthy of being a Prom Queen with the cheekbones and lips. Leave him alone.

This person is a male regardless of what he assumes he is - God do not make mistakes and he was born a male for a reason. He will never be a queen as a queen is a title that references a female. What I choose not to understand is why male or females who claim to like the same sex tend to go after an individual who resembles the sex in which they are denouncing- If I am female and gay - I should like the structure of a woman as she is not one who changes their look to resemble the opposite sex - Think about it people why would I want a prom queen that is male yet wants to look female- I f I like men I want a man who looks like a man not a woman- kind of confusing - yea cause the whole thing shows that society is but one thing and that is confused

you go sergio! damn straight!!!! or not.
