One will address the war and the other, Prop 8. At 3:30 and until 5 p.m., activists from CODEPINK and ANSWER LA will protest troops in Afghanistan and war funding outside the Beverly HIlton, where President Obama is attending a Democratic National Committee fundraiser. Then at 6 p.m., the Courage Campaign is organizing one about Prop 8. "Let's take this opportunity, just one day after the CA Supreme Court makes its decision on Proposition 8, to show our President our support for his daring promise to our community and to highlight the growing movement towards FULL FEDERAL EQUALITY," their website says.

God is there a less effective and more annoying group of attention seeking, self absorbed dilletantes than Code Pink?
agreed. code pink is annoying and makes all protesters look bad.
Except when they're protesting George Bush or Condoleezza Rice or Donald Rumsfeld or USMC recruiters or...
You're in deadly danger of making an ass out of u and me. But in case it isn't clear, I think Code Pink is annoying precisely because of their stupid antics which consisted mostly of Bush era activities. Obama's only been president for less than half a year afterall, but these idiots have been stupid since 2003.
The reason they make protesters look bad isn't because they're protesting Obama, it's because they're insufferable douchebags on par with PETA, and they perfected it during the Bush years.
Oh, I know Ross. I'm just bein' my usual belligerent self.
But I will admit to enjoying watching these Democrats in power who now have to try and deal with their insufferable antics.
Welcome to our world.
As a vegetarian who lives in the same universe as PETA, I'm already there.
Does this mean I should avoid Wilshire and Santa Monica on my way home?
Probably and probably, even if it was Obama minus protests...
Most definitely! I work in Westwood and the traffic around noon was already horrendous.
Think I'm gonna walk home instead of taking the bus. Faster and better for my health. :)
And making my evening commute miserable solves the world's problems how, exactly?
Yeah, he's been pretty daring alright.
Deny, rinse, repeat.
I'm not happy with all of Obama's compromises and give-ins. It looks like his promise to close Guantanamo is going to be NIMBYed out of existence, and I still think what's left of the detainees deserve a real trial and should have the right of habeus corpus, and not to be detained indefinitely.
All said and done I would still vote for him. I knew the status quo and public opinion would only let him accomplish so much.
