• A Costa Mesa man (possibly?) became the oldest American to scale Mount Everest. 67-year-old, Bill Burke stated he climbed because he, "wanted to be the oldest American who ever stood on top."
• Circuit City is back! At least their website is, but don't even think about returning anything you purchase.
• The president of the Los Angeles Police Commission, Anthony Pacheco, unexpectedly announced his resignation today. Pacheco is proud of the progress made during his service on the Commission, but now is returning full-time to his law firm, Proskauer Ros, to work on several "time-consuming assignments."
• The Hard Rock Café is coming to Hollywood/Highland next year. It will take over the Virgin Megastore's space with a "500-seat restaurant, a live concert area and a shop selling Hard Rock merchandise and rock ‘n’ roll memorabilia from the company's collection."
• Summer's getting started and the frozen yogurt wars are heating up. Red Mango is dishing up new flavors while Pinkberry might deliver if you're close enough. Pinkberry is also going to offer cherries as a new topping, but what happened to coffee flavored yogurt?
• Brentwood real estate agents Scott and Melinda Tamkin are suing a producer of CSI for using their likeness in a February episode. The Tamkins sold producer, Sarah Goldfinger a house and now are going after her for $6 million. They allege that she has caused them humiliation "by creating from whole cloth characters engaged in a reckless lifestyle of sexual bondage, pornography, drunkenness, marital discord, depression, financial straits and possibly even murder."
• O.C residents - look towards the sky beginning tonight for a chance to see the International Space Station. Don't blink though, it's traveling at 17,000 mph.
