Prop 8 decision to be announced on Tuesday The long awaited day will finally come. The Supreme Court will announce their decision on the validity of Prop 8, which banned gay marriage in California, on Tuesday at 10 a.m. Such rulings are generally made on Mondays and Thursdays, but due to the Memorial Day holiday, the ruling will come on Tuesday. Depending on the outcome, celebrations or protests are planned for Tuesday night and a large one next week Saturday in Fresno, of all places. The court's full announcement is below:

I like that they're having a big protest in Fresno. It's kinda pointless to keep having protests in very Dem areas like LA and SF.

Fresno Mayor Ashley Swearengin is Republican.

The citizens of Fresno are represented in the California State Senate by Dave Cogdill (R) and Dean Florez (D) and in the California State Assembly by Michael Villines (R) and Juan Arambula (D).

Representation in the United States Congress by George Radanovich (R) in (California's 19th congressional district), Jim Costa (D) in (California's 20th congressional district) and Devin Nunes (R) in (California's 21st congressional district).

Also of note,

Obama won Fresno county 50.3% to 48.2%, however 68.7% of the country voted for Prop 8.
