If you want good quotes, you go to LAPD Chief Bratton. He's always been one to be candid (remember his celebrity gossp/analysis?) Well yesterday, he joined Patt Morrision for her show on KPCC and when asked about LA Weekly's April 30th story refuting the LAPD's touted crime statistics, he dismissed it calling the report "voodoo journalism" said writer Patrick Range McDonald and cohorts must have "smoking a little weed when they wrote the article." That didn't sit well with Tina Dupuy at FishbowlLA:
There is something very unsettling about a member of the LAPD accusing a reporter of doing drugs for disagreeing with them. That would go for any police force, but the LAPD - in a post-Rampart world - throwing around the 'you're a dope head' dismissal for challenging his murky crime stats, is really...scary. And incredibly stupid.

I think the entire City Council must be high. Here we are in the middle of a budget crisis and they don't even bother to set up fees and sales tax requirements for the MMJ dispensaries.
Maybe Bratton was doing some crank when he said that.
he probably was smoking a little weed while writing. I've read the LA Weekly for years and it wouldnt surprise me. Bratton takes his job very seriously and doesnt handle critique well.
What a meathead.
