VOICEsVOICEs

Earlier this month, LA-Underground co-presented a showcase, with KXLU and Manimal Vinyl, at The Smell in Downtown LA, featuring Alexandra Hope, VOICEsVOICEs, EXITMUSIC, and Warpaint.

As described by the notable local music blog, which celebrates its fifth anniversary next month, "...this is a lineup that needs no introduction by us or anybody. Simply put, this musical gathering represents four bands at the forefront of L.A.'s new world order of ethereal post-rock. Not that any of these bands actually know or care about such a movement. They're just doing what they do, creating music that they're into, yet making tons of new fans along the way. And this is what we love about them the most. We should also make note that this is the last EXITMUSIC show before they move back to New York so that Ms. Aleksa can be an even bigger star than we already believe her to be."

As for upcoming local shows, VOICEsVOICEs' is on June 10th at Spaceland in Silver Lake and June 26th at The Echoplex, EXITMUSIC's is on June 28th at The Echoplex, and Warpaint's is on May 25th at Spaceland, June 5th at The Troubadour, June 11th at Bardot, and July 16th at the Hammer Museum with Foreign Born as part of its annual month-long "Also I Like to Rock" concert series -- last year's lineup included locals Nico Vega, Miss Derringer, The Deadly Syndrome, io echo, and Afternoons.
