The 26th Annual Long Beach Lesbian & Gay Pride Celebration happened over the weekend, and along with it came the Sunday parade that runs along Ocean Boulevard for a mile or two to the main event at the Marina Green Park and Rainbow Lagoon. Many of the participants are from family service organizations and churches, along with local businesses who dress up for a celebration of diversity. Thousands of locals lined the streets in what's become a real street party for gays and straights alike on a beautiful spring morning.

The Dykes on Bikes are NOT the only leaders of the Long Beach parade.
The men are up there with their lesbian brethren leading the parade, including members of Oedipus Motorcycle Club, the Los Angeles Satyrs, the LOBOC club and many others.
I tell you, these gay boys use any festival as a reason to run around in their underwear.
I have such a hard time telling the guys from the girls, the dykes from the motorcycle men. I think that's what makes it so much fun!

Why do so many of the participants in the parade equate gay pride with nasty sex dancing? If anything they're doing their best to set back acceptance of gays in mainstream culture. I know being gay is about more than fucking.
