We are all lucky enough to live in a region rich in arts, especially theatre. And Pasadena has one of the strongest presences around with its Playhouse District, which includes the Boston Court Performing Arts Center (follow them on Twitter) where a new world premiere play, Courting Vampires, opened this earlier this month.
Both the LA Weekly and Variety have given the show great reviews and we'd like to offer two pairs of tickets to our readers--one for Saturday this weekend and one for Saturday next weekend (and if you want to purchase tickets, click here. Use the code "LAIST" for a $5 discount).
To enter, write a comment on this post telling us a Pasadena restaurant you would dine at before or after the show. It could be your favorite eatery or one you've always wanted to try. Full details and rules of the contest are below:
Here's how the contest works:
- Enter the contest by making a comment on this post. Comments must fit the criteria, stated below.
- The criteria of the comment is that you share what Pasadena restaurant you would go to before or after the play

close august 23rd

Dining at POP Champagne, champagne is good anytime - Cheers! Would like to be considered for the Saturday, May 23rd show
I gotta try the Pie 'n Burger. Heard a lot of good things.
I would go to Gin Sushi! I love that place. My boyfriend and I live in Atwater Village but we drive out to Pasadena all the time to go to Gin Sushi. It's so great and so well priced.
I've always wanted to try Euro Pane Bakery, which is often mentioned as a top LA bakery on the chowhound boards.
I agree with the above poster. Long time fan of Pie N Burger. The wife and I would likely ride our bikes up from Silver Lake to said burger palace, consume cheeseburgers, malts and pie, then ride over to enjoy the play. Sounds like a perfect evening.
I like The Dining Room in the Langham, such a classy establishment. Apparently they have a 3 course menu for $59 right now. Perfect way to spend the money saved on tickets!
I would like to say I'd go to an exciting unique restaurant, but in all honesty I would probably go somewhere generic and cheap like Chipotle. (Just wait until I get a better job though - nice pre-theatre restaurants here I come!)
Definitely Brix 42. I missed the free food night earlier this week but I'm dying to try their new IPA!
It has to be Japon Bistro. Amazing veggie/vegan selections there, the best saki in LA, and it's really close to the theater.
I would definitely go to Gale's. They have the best Northern Italian food in the area.
Green Street Restaurant for dinner before the show, great food and relaxing place.
I'm in for Green Street Restaurant too!
I would definitely would want to try and get eats at Shaab, which I've frequented many times. Fresh fish and decent prices make for some excellent Japanese!
I would like to be in the drawing for May 23rd. Would love to try Roy's on Colorado.
mmm, Crepe Vine Bistro. Delicious food, great drinks and friendly staff. One of my favorites and a place that i always take my out of town guests to!
Maison Akira is the best restaurant in Pasadena and possibly LA. I'd go there.
Dinner and drinks at Vertical Wine Bistro. It's purty.
If I won tickets to the theater, I would celebrate and go to Maison Akira before or after the show.
