Well, you know how it goes. The world's oldest profession will never cease, even if Craigslist, in an agreement with most U.S. state attorney generals, nixes their "erotic services" category in favor of a monitored "adult" one. This comes amid controversy surrounding the Craigslist Killer incident on the East Coast when a medical student from Boston was charged with killing a masseuse he met off the site. But, as ZDNet Government Richard Koman notes, this move does little to stop violence: "the AGs seem more concerned with protecting morals than lives."

I wonder what would happen if AGs gave this amount of attention to the hundreds of minority prostitutes that are not members of a higher socio-economic groups that have access to cute things like the internet.
Apparently murder is only murder if you're white and want easy money.
The problem is not going to go away. When they put cc verification in the ES, it sent people who didnt have a credit card to the W4M and CE sections. Now all of that will end up in that section.
At least they have not gotten rid of my favorite section - best of CL.
I don't want prostitution made it illegal, but I also don't want it on the streets or alleys near my home. This ruling will do exactly that.
They may take away "Erotic Services," but they cannot stop me from making a living.
NO!!!!!!!
The big problem here is all the escort companies and prostitutes will now be posting EVERYWHERE ELSE! The greatest thing about craigslist is it's unbelievable organization.
All the other categories like w4m, casual encounters, theraputic services, misc romance, strictly platonic, and the adult section (which was created for porn jobs) will now be polluted with whores.
It's a sad day.
Well, I myself prefer to look at the positives and how this may ressurect print media which as diminished since the advent of craigslist. Consider it traditionalist.
Yes! The return of the LA Xpress!
