At Least 7 May Day Marches Today

Although the turnout is expected to me much smaller than in 2005 and 2006, today's marches will bring tens of thousands of people together over the causes they believe in. "Most of the groups agree on the same policy measures -- legalize illegal immigrants, stop work-site and residential raids, and end the separation of families through deportations," the LA Times reported.

Traffic downtown is going to blow, so be patient. For closures and the whatnot, the city has a website page dedicated to that info with maps and all that. The big traffic warning is this: "Please avoid the area bounded by Hill Street, Pico Boulevard, Alameda Street and Cesar Chavez Avenue between 10:30 am and 9:00 pm." That's a big chunk of downtown!
