Clinton Kelly of 'What Not to Wear' Brings 'Make Over America' to SoCal

LAist Interviews Clinton Kelly About 'Make Over America' from Tom Lewis on Vimeo.

Clinton Kelly, co-host of TLC's "What Not To Wear", is coming to the Macy*s South Coast Plaza in Costa Mesa on June 6th as part of his Make Over America Tour. The day will feature a fashion show of 15 "locals" (meaning pretty much anyone from LA or the Valley) selected for makeovers as well as Clinton Kelly holding court for the entire afternoon.

While getting a mini-fashion show (see the above video) we asked Kelly about what he considers to be fashion don'ts that he sees regularly in LA ("ugh" to Uggs) and we also asked for some advice for guys ("get some good shoes") since "What Not To Wear" eliminated the men's makeovers a couple seasons ago.

If you are interested in being a candidate for a makeover, make sure you are a female (sorry guys, nothing for us this time around), get your entry in by April 29th, your entry also counts towards the national grand prize of a makeover and $5000 shopping spree in New York City. Go to the Macy*s Make Over America website and enter the contest. For more info on what Clinton Kelly is up to, be sure to check out ClintonKelly.com.

I like this show but would totally love it if they brought back the male 'what not to wear' segments. Nice interview, tom!

It really is a shame that the advice for men part is gone - maybe the interest isn't enough to support an entire show but there could be a segment.
