How Many Grilled Cheeses Will You Eat This Weekend?

Cool weather, beer, wine, public transportation and best of all tons of grilled cheeses! That's what's going down tomorrow afternoon at the Cornfields, better known these days as Los Angeles State Historic Park just off the Gold Line Chinatown stop.

So here's the deal. Everyone who is competing with their grilled cheese recipe is already signed up and ready to go. The rest of y'all can either judge (it's first come, first serve for 1700 folks) or you can "just immerse yourself in the cheeseness," as organizers say. Entry price is a whopping five dollar bill.

All the info you need is over at the 7th Annual Grilled Cheese Invitational's website. And hey, if you miss it, don't forget, there's still about a week left of National Grilled Cheese Month.

I'm goin' to that one!

Close to home, only $5, I get to sample all the grilled cheeses, and I also get to vote which one's the best.

Can't beat that with a stick!

It's too bad that those who don't get to be judges have to resign themselves to Kraft singles cheese sandwiches. I guess, extra motivation to show up early early.

I got there 20 minutes early and the line was already wrapping around the grassy knoll. By the time I left I was totally cheesed out, the line to get in was all the way out to the park entrance and more people showing up by the second.

I figured since I couldn't stuff another grilled cheese sammich down my gullet I'd make some room for all those people still standing in line.

Def a fun event, good creative sammich makers, and LOTS 'O CHEESE!

Bread. Butter. Cheese. Seriously... what else needs to be said?
