From tonight to Friday morning, a busy section of Hollywood Boulevard will be closed for a Depeche Mode concert. The band is doing double duty, performing a live taped show for the Jimmy Kimmel Show in anticipation of their new album and show , but also promoting the revitalization of Hollywood and Vine where the new W Hotel will be completed this fall. 10,000 people are expected to show, 7,000 of who already have tickets. You reportedly do not need them to see the show, just be aware of possible riots. The show is at 5 p.m. on Thursday.

Hollywood Boulevard will be closed from 11 p.m. tonight through 6 a.m. Friday between Vine Street and Gower Street. Additionally, Argyle Avenue will be shut down between Selma Avenue and Yucca Street, save for northbound local traffic to access Sunshine Parking. The Metro Hollywood/Vine Red Line Station will remain open.

It's Depeche FUCKING Mode you guys. with a fucking. Sheesh.

I'd take depeche mode with a fucking any day. SHEESH.

"The show is at 5 p.m. on Thursday."

Actually you have to arrive by 5pm, but the performance is from 7:45-9:00.

The million dollar question is, will Vine Street itself be closed at Hollywood? Or will we still be able to drive by? I mean, maybe not on the evening of the concert, but all the other times?

Here's the link for street closures as a result of the concert: http://www.navigatehollywood.com/node/398

Looks like it's closed at Vine and Hollywood.

They changed the show to tickets only last week and are telling those without tix not to come as they won't get in. See DMs official site or 1iota.com.

As some here have already noted, the details changed since the main PR was sent out...

* You need to have a ticket to see the show. Therefore it's more like 4,000 people.

* Show starts at 7:45, and is only six songs (or so).

* KTTV, KABC and KTLA covered the story last night, quoting the old PR. I was down at the site, surveying the layout, and recording the KTLA reporter as he did his report:
