The TV Junkie Goes to E!'s "The Soup" from Tom Lewis.
The TV Junkie made it to the set of E!'s "The Soup" last night (it's also the same studio used by just about every other show at E! - their crew must be wizards at LEGOS). We talked to executive producers KP Anderson and Edward Boyd who filled us in on the history of "The Soup" as well as some of the nuances of putting together a weekly summary and evisceration of TV and pop culture.
We got a couple minutes with host Joel McHale and decided to ask him questions about the new "90210", a show we never watch and have no interest in, and we paid the price.
What was obvious is that this is a very supportive team - virtually the same group of 14 people have been creating this show since its launch in 2004 and it's obvious that from the producers to the writers, the prop-master to the PAs, that this dedicated group is having a good time producing one of the gems of TV.
Tonight's show is a definite must-watch with a very special guest - tonight on E! at 10pm.

Go Tom!
The Soup is one of the shows I look forward to...and tonight's guest is a great one!
Hasn't the Soup been on for much longer than 5 years? I mean Greg Kinnear hosted it at least 12 years ago, I think.
ezfinn, there was "Talk Soup" which focused exclusively on talk shows during its run. "The Soup" hits all TV programming as well as web stuff and other media.
This KP guy looks awfully familiar. Do you know if he emceed last year's Gay Pride Parade in San Fran? I think I may have dated him back in the day.
