Pencil This In: A Night of Theatre or Some Standup?

THEATRE
The Mark Taper Forum in downtown features Lydia through May 17th. Set in the 70s, the play revolves around the life of Lydia, the bond between herself and the young lady she cares for. It further explores the challenges of living in between two worlds and its related conflicts of cultural definition, highlighted by Lydia's immigrant background. Starts at 8 PM.

THEATRE 2
James Avery, aka Philip Banks, and Florence Larue of the 5th Dimension team up to host the final night of New Voices, at the Stella Adler Theatre. Presented by the Los Angeles Women's Theatre Festival, New Voices II features works by Aaron Braxton, Virginia Watson and Vanessa Williams. Curtains go up at 8 PM.

PHOTOGRAPHY
Allan Tannenbaum's collection of photographs featuring various musicians and movie stars comes to the West Coast for the first time ever. Bright Lights, Big City: New York in the 70s features pictures of John Lennon, Bob Marley, Jack Nicholson, Martin Scorsese and other heavyweights. The collection also includes images capturing the city, its people and culture in general, as it exited in the decade that brought us Studio 54. Through April 14th at Art In Tune.

COMEDY
Comedian Dante of Last Comic Standing and Comic View fame and Halloween Night's Rebekah Kochan present Most Wanted Comedy Show at the Improv. Tonight's line up includes up and coming comedians Mike Marino, Loren King, Josh Nasar and others. Laughs start at 8 PM.
