And I thought I had a hard time getting all the feathers out of my hair?! (Lindsay William-Ross/LAist)
Hundreds of Angelenos heeded the call of International Pillow Fight Day by assembling in Pershing Square, armed with pillows and many dressed in goofy get-ups. At exactly 3 p.m. the buzzer sounded, and it was every man, woman, and child for themselves as the blows began to land and the feathers flew. And boy, did those feathers fly!

Photo Essay - Pershing Square Pillow Fight (2008)

So who paid to clean up this mess?
the pillow fighters cleaned it up.
that was an explicit expectation of participation, per the event's website: "Yes, it makes a mess, but we’ll do our best to clean up afterwards. Leaving no trace would be awesome."
what do you mean, "who paid?"
this is los angeles.
people wreck the city, cry about the mess, expect city street cleaners to pick up after them, and once they realize the mess is still there, they "raise awareness" via facebook applications. who really raises a finger around here to clean up after themselves?
Don't be so negative, kimsoner. Smoke a doobie and get in a pillow fight.
I'll stop dishing out crap as soon as people start cleaning up after themselves.
Til then, I'm gonna be "that guy" and make litterbugs feel awkward.
kimsoner - everything was cleaned up by people who coordinated the pillow fight.
FYI. I walked through pershing square that night, and everything was clean.
