is she the one who runs the news stand on cahuenga? if so, i love her! she's from boston (my hometown...go sox)
Diz is an L.A. institution...or legend... or legend who should be in an institution. I first met her when she was a waitress at Raydion on Pico in West L.A. at the height of the New Wave movement in 1981 (she was 7, I was 3) and she used her trademark bird-like call to greet people. I lost track of her for awhile and then she popped up as a host of USA Network's "Up All Night" late-night weekend movie show - "wow, Diz has her own tv show!" She disappeared again and then I walked into Wacko on Hollywood Boulevard a few years ago and she sold me some sage oil. Everywhere you go in L.A., there's Diz! Love ya, Diz!
