Isiah Thomas to the Clippers front office?

The franchise destroyer that is Isiah Thomas has been in talks with the Clippers about joining the team's front office. ESPN.com reports that Thomas, whose resume includes running the CBA into bankruptcy and taking the New York Knicks from a perennial playoff team to perennial punchline, talked to "Clippers owner Donald Sterling in a meeting arranged by current coach/general manager Mike Dunleavy," back in February.

Isiah, who is still somehow employed by the Knicks, is searching for a new gig; Sterling, meanwhile, is looking to add "another executive to the Los Angeles front office to alleviate some of Dunleavy's responsibilities in his dual role as coach and general manager."

"Former Lakers and Grizzlies General Manager Jerry West was linked to a possible Clippers front office job before he publicly disavowed any interest." After being turned down by West, Sterling naturally went to the next best man for the job...Isiah Thomas?

Clipper fans, don't jump off that roof yet. There's still hope that Thomas may not be bringing his brand of crazy and ineptness to the Staples Center. A source tells ESPN that Thomas "has shifted his focus to pursuing a head coaching position at the college level." College might be the perfect place for Isiah, there's no salary cap.

This is quite possibly the worst idea ever. Regardless of where you slot Thomas (GM or coach), he'd be flanked by Dunleavy and Sterling. The three of them together would form the worst NBA management trifecta...ever. Total Fail. For the sake of clippers fans, the city of LA, and Bill Simmons, let's hope this never happens.
