Calling all singers, musicians and others wishing to make a living as a recording artist! California Lawyers for the Arts hosts a workshop at Downtown's Plaza de La Raza for all parties interested in learning the finer details of hiring a manager. Ten tips for recording artists to consider when entering into a management agreement will cover a comprehensive list of topics to help artists identify when the time is right for a manager, what a manager should be doing, where to find one and equally important, how to get rid of one. Event is free and starts at 7 pm.

LECTURE
Architectural historian Peter Moruzzi takes his audience back in time in his lecture Havana Modern: Mid-Century Architecture in Pre-Castro Cuba taking place at the Brand Library in Glendale. Based on his book Havana Before Castro: When Cuba was a tropical playground, the free lecture brings to life an era long gone by and likely never to be seen again. A book signing session will follow the lecture.

ART
The Southwest Museum of the American Indian hosts an exhibit of works by Mexican artist Lalo Garcia. Garcia's works can be seen at various southland places of worship, including the Los Angeles Cathedral of the Angels amongst others. His personal works have been on display not only in the U.S., but also Mexico and Spain. Through May 2nd.
