OctoMom is 'Greedy' and 'Nuts' Says (Another) Former PR Rep

Another publicist has decided not to represent OctoMom Nadya Suleman and says she's greedy and nuts

And another one bites the dust. That's two publicists Whittier's Nadya Suleman has burned through since the birth of her octuplets (in vitro babies #7-14) at the end of January.

First, the Killeen-Furtney group withdrew their pro bono services after receiving a few too many violent threats (over 100) regarding their choice to rep the unconventional single mother on disability. Now publicist Victor Munoz has revealed "he quit as Suleman's rep Friday night," according to USWeekly.com. The professional ringleader explains why he's leaving the Suleman circus:

"It just got to be too much," he says. "It's pretty much a free for all over there right now. They are freaking out right now.

"Not to sound arrogant, but those people depended on me for everything," he continues. "You have no idea what I’ve had to do for these people.

"Nadya got real greedy. This woman is nuts," he adds. "This I can say: what ultimately destroyed the business arrangement was personal reasons."

Suleman seems to be struggling to maintain even the slightest grasp on positive press these days...

Last week Whittier police released disturbing audio tapes of her frantic 911 call when her son went missing; they also revealed the Suleman house had been visited multiple times by their officers and child services in the past several months. Further, her wish to sell the video of her giving birth is more fodder for lampooning, while gossip sites like RadarOnline have happily used her to find success for themselves.

Although she's rumored to be getting hefty cash for her "exclusive" video and longhand legal-pad "blogging" she is not netting the $2 million in endorsements she longs for, and recently turned down a local non-profit's offer for 24/7 childcare help because they wouldn't allow her to film an as-yet secured television reality show while they were working with her children.

Suleman is under pressure to prove she can provide for her children; the Bellflower hospital where the octuplets are staying may not release them to her, while the home she shares with her parents (and brood) may soon be in foreclosure. No word on if she's interested in adult entertainment company Vivid's offer for her to earn up to $1 million starring in a skin flick.

I love you guys, but really, enough with the OctoMom. It's one thing to comment on how silly and sensational something is, and another to obsessively over-report on it to the point that you threaten to become part of the problem. Now get back to your top-notch regional reportage as usual. :-)

I have to say I agree with this. Leave her alone. She'll dig her own grave. If what she wants is publicity, why are we giving it to her?

my personal feelings on the issue aside, it would be one thing if we covered "OctoMom" (someone who lives here in LA County, remember!) at the expense of covering other things happening here, but we don't.

the fact remains that people in LA and all over the country (world?) are very curious about this story--which is probably why one story published here last week netted 54 "recommends" from our readership.

she's certainly doing her part to get publicity, but i don't think what we're offering is what she's really looking for. i would take more issue with media outlets like Entertainment Tonight and Access Hollywood, who, in my opinion, are making a news story into a celebrity saga by covering Suleman obsessively. what she has to do with either "Entertainment" or "Hollywood" is beyond me.

While I happily acknowledge that your 8Mom coverage doesn't detract from your other stories, my cynical side would nonetheless suggest that the reason you got 54 "recommends" from an OctoMom story is because there are plenty of people who take smug delight in reading the sort of sad and slightly horrified perspective that LAist takes about her.

In the scheme of things, these stories are nothing more than a line I'll occasionally have to skip in my RSS feed, but I wanted to throw in my $.02. Keep up the good work (otherwise).

In fairness, Access Hollywood announced about 2 weeks ago that they would no longer be covering her or her story. Unless, of course, she gets a reality TV show - which has to be one the funniest caveats ever. Oh, Billy Bush. Always taking the moral high ground.
