TV Junkie: Local Newscasts See Huge Bump in Share; 'The Chris Isaak Hour', 'ABDC'

If you thought that the local news was boring claptrap that only idiots watch, then you are outside of the ever-increasing popularity of the local newscast - Nielsen is reporting a 20% year-over-year increase in viewership. For TV, a fractional percentage change is big news but 20% is incredible.

Fans of "Seinfeld" will be psyched that members of the cast will all be making appearances on this Fall's season of HBO's "Curb Your Enthusiasm". This sounds great to us but makes us wonder if that signals that this is the penultimate season of Larry David's series.

Tonight, be sure to check out "The Chris Isaak Hour" on Bio @ 10pm and also check out LAist's interview with Chris Isaak - if dance is your thing, then the season finale of "America's Best Dance Crew" is also running @ 10pm on MTV. Tomorrow morning on "The Martha Stewart Show", former Tribe Called Quest frontman, Q-Tip, will be making an appearance - we're intrigued as to whether will he be doing a decorating or a cooking project.
