Dodgers Make Manny Another Offer, Hope Phone Rings

With Spring Training underway, the Dodgers have made Manny Ramirez another offer to return for the 2009 baseball season, reports the Los Angeles Times. The latest offer is $25 million dollars for one year with a player option for a second year for $20 million dollars.

The 2010 player option is the only significant difference between the current offer on the table and the Dodgers' previous offer of one year for $25 million in early February. The previous offer had been swiftly rejected. An offer of two years for $45 million last winter also was rejected, as was an Election Day offer of two years and a club option year for a total of $60 million.

According to the unnamed source for the Los Angeles Times, the second-year player option came at the request of Ramirez's agent, Scott Boras.

The Dodgers are waiting to hear back from Boras.
