LA Clippers defeat Golden State Warriors 118-105. With Zach Randolph and Marcus Camby back in the line up, the Clippers finally got some size back into their team. And the size did help them win against the fast paced Warriors. There was also a Baron Davis sighting who nearly had a triple-double with 25 points, 10 assists and nine rebounds. Zach Randolph and Eric Gordon each scored 27 points for the Clips.

Notable Notes

  • The venerable journalistic institution that is Vic "The Brick" Jacobs reported on AM 570 KLAC Monday afternoon that the Dodgers and Manny Ramirez are on the final leg of getting a three-year deal put together which will be announced at the end of the week. The only details Jacobs would divulge is that the first two years are a set salary while the third year's salary is incentive-based on number of plate appearances. Meanwhile the Dodgers are denying the rumors. While all Dodger fans really hope that this is true, given the source I will just keep a healthy dose of skepticism on this one.
  • In other Dodger news, Jason Schmidt threw a ball! In fact he threw the ball off of a pitching mound for an inning! He made 11 pitches in a scoreless inning giving up only one hit while pitching nine strikes. After being paid over $30 million the last couple years with the effectiveness of an umbrella in a tornado, might the Dodgers finally see some return in this investment?

  • The Round Mound of Rebound Charles Barkley pleaded guilty to drunk driving and will now serve five days in jail, pay a $2,000 fine and have to install an ignition interlock device in all of his cars.
  • With NewsCorp's COO Peter Chernin stepping down in June, let's remember a blast from the past. As most Dodger fans remember Peter O'Malley sold the franchise to Fox back in 1998. Here is an LA Times article from 1999 by Steve Springer where Chernin tried to weasel his way out of responsibility for trading away Mike Piazza to the Florida Marlins while throwing then-GM Fred Claire under the bus. Yeah. The Fox regime really worked out well, right?
  • An amazing finish to an NBA tonight. New Jersey Net's Devin Harris' game winning half court shot as time expired against the Philadelphia 76ers.

And that was not a travel.
