It's not the nicest way to wake up on what is a holiday for many: A large tree fell over during the rainstorm this morning in Laurel Canyon, "knocking down three power poles, blocking Wonderland Avenue and interrupting electricity to about 1,700 customers," according to the Daily News.

The tree, which is around 100 feet tall, came down around 6:40 this morning, and DWP crews made their way to the area and are working to restore power.

Several areas are experiencing power outages due to today's major rainstorm; KCAL-9's Noon broadcast indicates that there are about 4,000 customers without power, mostly in the Santa Monica, South Bay, and Long Beach areas.
