Chris Brown Says Sorry...But You've Got My Story All Wrong

R&B star Chris Brown says the media's got it wrong when it comes to what happened the night before the Grammys leading up to his turning himself in and spending some time in jail instead of onstage at Staples center.

Brown issued a statement via a publicist that was light on the 411 and heavy on the expected apology and indications that the media wasn't telling his tale right:

Words cannot begin to express how sorry and saddened I am over what transpired. I am seeking the counseling of my pastor, my mother and other loved ones and I am committed, with God's help, to emerging a better person. Much of what has been speculated or reported on blogs and/or reported in the media is wrong. While I would like to be able to talk about this more, until the legal issues are resolved, this is all I can say except that I have not written any messages or made any posts to Facebook, on blogs or any place else. Those posts or writings under my name are frauds. (via CNN)

Those Facebook postings include changing his relationship status to "single" and making some digs about his girlfriend, singer Rihanna, such as "You'll begin to see her true colors. Believe it!" Not much is known about how Rihanna plays into the events of February 8th; she was named as the victim "of criminal threats and domestic violence" by Brown, but she, too, is keeping mum about the details. Both the superstars' fathers have had plenty to say, though; Brown's father says his son is "remorseful," and Rihanna's father says his daughter is bruised, but will be all right. "At some point, she will speak out," he said. "I hope she will stand up for women all over the world."

Superstar? I never heard of Chris Brown before this.

But I do love the bit about All those stories got it wrong, and I would like to be able to talk about it, but I just can't because of my lawyers. That one just never gets old.

I totally listen to the wrong music to consider either of these kids superstars, but the pop charts tell a different story...

no shit, i'd never heard of him before this either. and i don't think i'm THAT old.

he's a piece of crap.

fuck chris brown. may someone beat him and leave him unconscious and then throw him in the ocean. no man has any excuse to hit a woman. why? cause a woman gave you life. what a disgusting piece of trash. career = over, bitch
