Your Path to Playing for America's Team Begins Tomorrow

Much like America, the team commonly referred to as America's Team has fallen on some hard times. The Dallas Cowboys ended a drama-filled 2008 season on the wrong end of a 44-6 beat down courtesy of the Philadelphia Eagles in a must-win Week 17 game. The last time the 'boys won a playoff game, quarterback Tony Romo was 16 and Bill Clinton was in the White House.

Looks like the Cowboys could use a little bit of hope and change. That's where YOU come in. Yes, you can. Through the power of reality TV, Hall of Fame wide receiver Michael Irvin is giving one lucky amateur athlete a shot to play for his former team. Irvin's untitled reality show which will air on Spike TV, is on the hunt for 12 contestants (wide receivers or defensive backs) who will compete for a spot on Dallas' training camp roster with the potential of actually becoming a Cowboy. Their hunt makes it final stop tomorrow in Los Angeles.

If you think you could strap on that helmet with the big blue star on the sides and play wide receiver or defensive back in the NFL then you need to get over to the Citadel Outlet Mall tomorrow between 10 A.M. and 4 P.M. for an open casting call. The place where you can save up to 70% on retail prices may also end up being the first step in your path to greatness on the gridiron.

Allison Kaz, the VP of Casting for 3Ball Productions who has already been to open casting calls in Columbus, OH, Dallas and Orlando tells us, “We've had quite a good turnout for our casting calls. We just had a large turnout in Dallas with over 250 talented guys who play wide receiver or defensive back." Kaz adds, "We have such great hopeful stories from guys who should have gone pro but went into the military, or gave it up for the birth of their child or just never got the necessary exposure."

If you're on the fence; not sure if you should call in sick tomorrow for a shot at becoming a Cowboy then maybe Kaz's insight on what she is looking for will help:

“For our LA open call we are looking for guys who are destined to make it in the Pros and just never got their chance. We are looking for guys with legit talent who have a will stronger than most and a good reason they never made it into the NFL. These guys need to be good.”

If that sounds like you, here's the directions to the Citadel. When you're done, stop by the Banana Republic Factory Store and grab a suit. You're going to need to look good when you take the podium at a post-game press conference and lie to the media about how Terrell Owens is a good a teammate and by no means a distraction.
