LAst Night's Action: Blazers Burn Clips

The Blazers Overpower Clips

Portland Trail Blazers defeat LA Clippers 113-88. The Clippers were hoping it would be like their last meeting up in Portland where the Clips escaped with a one-point victory, but with almost all their starters in the infirmary there was no chance. Brandon Roy led the way for the Blazers with 33 points while Al Thornton led the Clips with 23 points. Amazing the Clippers were very much in the game trailing by only six points in the fourth quarter. But the Blazers blew the Clippers out 36-15 in the last quarter.

Notable Notes

  • The back and forth between San Diego Charger's running back LaDainian Tomlinson and GM AJ Smith has one notable detractor: linebacker Shawne Merriman. Merriman essentially told the two to shut the fuck up and concentrate on what matters - to win a Super Bowl. Tomlinson last week wrote on his website that he would like to remain a Charger. Smith struck back mocking Tomlinson word-for-word before saying that he's in charge of making decisions in the Chargers organization. Smith should learn when to speak especially since he's the one that decided to hire Norv Turner as head coach.
  • As the Rupert Murdoch-owned New York Post role in Tom Verducci's soon-to-be released book The Yankee Years, all I really care about is the Torre manages the Dodgers well. They can trash him all they want, but it can't be anywhere near as bad as Phil Jackson's.
  • This one is omitted since I'm busy watching the Australian Open.
