Dear Gothamist and Chicagoist,
It's been over 80 degrees lately in Los Angeles -- on the beach.
Enjoy your highs of 22 (New York) and -5 (Chicago) today, along with this photo gallery of 28 things we like to do in the dead of winter. Outside, of course.
Sincerely,
LAist
PS: Hahahahahahahaha.
PPS: All photos by Adam Rose during a bike ride in Santa Monica, Venice, and Pacific Palisades on Wednesday, January 14, 2009. Ha.

Hah! Why would anyone live anywhere else?
Because I enjoy culture?
You're right! LA has no culture and everything you've seen on Baywatch is true - don't move here! Stay in NY.
When the weather gets warmer, the sidewalks smell like pee.
Dear LAist,
Our harsh weather conditions only make us hardier.
Love,
Tankboy
P.S. You're all a bunch of pansies!
Thanks for this great collection of pics. As a transplanted east coaster I can really appreciate this.
Don't forget DC! Not only is the windchill down to 9 degrees, but we've got 3 million tourists coming to town this weekend to watch some guy swear on something.
Great pictures.
I LOVE LA!
Dear Laist,
Thank you for the well wishes. We'll be sure to remember you the next time your fair city starts burning down and you start closing freeways and regulating parking so the firetucks can get up the hills.
Love,
BlueFairlane, Chicagoist fringe commenter.
PS: Angels suck.
PPS: You already knew that.
mmmmm...sun feels good.
still warm. how's that -27degree weather?
Yeah those angels suck...top record in their division and getting swept
oh wait the angels won one game...what team am i thinking of then....i think it started with a C and ended with an UBS
Nice try, samkim, but I'm a White Sox fan ... you know, top record in their division (barely), snd getting swept. Oh wait, the White Sox won one game.
Much like the Angels, Cubs suck. That's the only way you can expect a piss-poor team like the Dodgers to take them out.
All in good fun, of course. :-)
Sunshine and warmth can make anything seem not so bad as it really is, at least for those with low standards.
(Takes deep breath)..mmmmmmm, that sun needs a beer, what's that? I hear the ice cream truck... boooo bye.
It’s all relative. I’ll take down to earth and friendly folks and a few months of frigid weather over pretentiousness and fake…everything, any day. Bring on the cold weather. We’re rewarded with the best summers you can find anywhere. And hey! We have real beaches, too!
someone's been watching too many baywatch reruns and mtv reality shows! stereotype much?
it's ok. i forgive you. your cold weather really sucks.
what's that smell? oh it's the stench of bitterness.
LA - so wonderful.
