Okay, so this is not exactly new to the world--it's been around for over a year now--but for some reason Ralph's just made us notice this past weekend and we had to try the novelty that is the Organic Batter Blaster. It's pancake batter in a Easy Cheese-like spray can that is organic. Whole Foods had it on their shelves at one point, so it met their standards, but TreeHugger called it "UnTreeHugger." It's actually pretty tasty and would be convenient for camping, but once the fun wears off and you realize you're that guy, being that lazy, it's really not all that.

One of the reasons why this makes me so sad is because pancakes are one of the easiest things to make--yes, from scratch (Bisquick Schmisquick)!!! Are we that lazy?
Treehugger is right.
That kind of packaging can't even be recycled for the metal with out cutting it open and washing out the residual batter. Who's going to do all that? The spent containers are destined to further clutter up the landfills.
Very not green.
I have an excellent low calorie Spanish Pancake recipe if anyone's interested. One egg, olive oil, and makes 24 pancakes.
And no can to try to recycle.
Sounds delish.. please share.
Such an inappropriate name for a product.
That would be great. Spill it.
Oops! Meant to be @BingosDingos
Yea Bingo, share that recipe.
Yea Ali, can you say "greenwashing"?
1 large bar of chocolate, chopped (set aside. about 1/2 cup)
1 1/2 cup flour
2 TBS sugar
2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
pinch of salt
1 1/2 cup butter milk
1 egg
1 TBS olive oil
Mix the batter and add the chocolate "chips" when batter is slightly lumpy. Ladle onto a hot griddle. Makes about 24 "cakes."
For a bit of Spanish flair serve with a mint garnish and honey.
I went out to get it at Ralph's after I saw this post. It's okay, bordering sub-par. There really is no reason to get this. They turn out very flat and kind of flavorless. I'd recommend Aunt Jemina for the laziness factor.
