Pencil This In: Spaghetti Westerns and Wumpskating

REDCAT screens Brigitte Cornand’s 1995 documentary on artist Chère Louise tonight at 8:30 pm. “Documentarian Brigitte Cornand first met Louise Bourgeois in 1994 and over the next dozen years made a trilogy of intimate videos about the iconic artist, now 97, through an idiosyncratic form of collaboration between filmmaker and subject. The first installment of the trilogy, Chère Louise (Dear Louise), traces the inspirations, autobiographical sources and everyday routines that shape Bourgeois’ powerful art.” Cornand will appear in person at the screening.

SPAGHETTI WESTERNS
There’s a double feature of Sergio Leone-directed / Clint Eastwood-starred films at the New Beverly Cinema tonight. At 7:30 pm is For a Few Dollars More (1965) followed by The Good, The Bad and The Ugly at 10 pm.

GOTH SKATE*
Tonight’s the monthly Wumpskate at the World on Wheels on Venice Boulevard What’s Wumpskate? It’s LA's only all ages Goth/Industrial Rollerskating Party. It’s only $6 and includes skate rental. Doors open at 9 pm and you can skate all you want until 1 am.

IDEAS
Ideablob.com, the online community where small business owners and entrepreneurs share and get feedback on their ideas, is hosting a “Bloblive” tonight at the Westwood Brewing Company. It’s an event where you - the budding entrepreneur - can participate in a facilitated live brainstorm with other like-minded people. Everyone gets their time at the mic to ask the group a question about their business. It starts at 6 pm and the idea sharing and live video streaming starts at 7 pm.

CLASSICAL
Tonight’s installment of the Monday Evening Concerts series features XTET at Zipper Hall and includes the pieces: “The Viola in My Life II” by Morton Feldman; Alvin Curran’s “Schtyx”; and Frederic Rzewski’s “96” and “Pocket Symphony.” The concert begins at 8 pm.
