Goodbye, Macy's

macysclosing.jpg Macy's today announced that they will be closing 11 underperforming stores, including one in the Los Angeles area. This means clearance sales next week! "These closings are part of our normal-course process to prune underperforming locations each year in order to maintain a healthy portfolio of stores," said Macy's Chief Executive Terry J. Lundgren in a statement. Ahem, there's nothing normal about this. The locally affected Macy's is downtown in the Ernst & Young Plaza at 735 S. Figueroa St.

That Macy's was voted Best Place to Get Shanked By a Drifter in both '07 and '08.

Ha! I mean, that's not good, but you know...

I can't believe they're not closing "scary Macy's" in N. Hollywood at Oxnard & Laurel. Tell me that place is doing a profit... NO WAY!

wait.. so two macy's within a block of each other was a bad idea?
