A peaceful protest march aimed at expressing opposition to the passage of Prop 8 is scheduled for tomorrow afternoon in East Los Angeles. The "Marcha Somos Familia: We are Family" event has been organized by Lambda Legal, and will begin at 10 a.m. at the corner of N. Soto St. and E. Cesar Chavez Ave in the city of Los Angeles and will stop 2.6 miles way at Belvedere Park in unincorporated East Los Angeles. According to their press release, the march's "purpose is not only to publicly express [their] disapproval of all forms of constitutional discrimination but to encourage dialogue and love among the Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, and heterosexual friends and family members. The march is a first for the predominantly Latino community living in the East Los Angeles area."

MS13 will also be there to show their disapproval of the passage of Prop H8, and will also be actively recruiting for the 2009 year.
even gangsters need love...
Those comments are pretty cynical. Yeah, East LA has a huge gang problem. But it also has a huge gay population. And power to them for standing up for civil rights!
10 people in East LA marching through the street. Yes, some hispanics voted against Prop 8. It just shows that homosexuality and sin is not just a Caucasian thing. But then neither is pedophilia, incest and polygamy.
Homosexuals often cry foul play, when they are compared with those above, but the LGBT continues to invite NAMBLA as keynote speakers and actively share in their agendas.
It was a successful event with over 150 marchers. It was put on by SOMOS FAMILIA, a gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, and Ally (GLBTA) organization. We are a multi-ethnic and multi-lingual organization of EDUCATED community activists, teachers, and leaders concerned with the HATRED and HOMOFOBIA DESTORYING our Latino families. We invite everyone to join in the movement for equality and the right to LOVE. We are NOT "hispanic;" instead we are Chicanas, Chicanos, Latin@s, Salvadorans, Mexicans, Guatemalans, Hondure~os, Nicaraguences, Puerto Riquenos, Cubanos, Indigenas, South Asians, Asian Pacific Islanders, African-Americans, the list goes on! The LA Mayor, our State Governor, the US Secretary of the Department of Labor, millions of elected officials, religious leaders, and more importantly, families and members of our communities AGREE that the passing of Prop 8 was a MISTAKE.
JOIN THE MOVEMENT FOR EQUALITY!
UNETE AL MOVIMIENTO PARA LA IGUALDAD!
LOVE is NOT a sin!
Hate is a sin.
Abuse is a sin.
