Murders Down in Los Angeles, Up in Chicago & NYC

Something seems to be working, but one is still too many. Los Angeles had 380 murders in 2008, which is the lowest since 1969 and a downward trend from 2004 when there were 518. By comparison, both Chicago and New York City saw their murder rates increase each to over 500 last year.

What do you know, murder is up in cities with the most draconian gun control laws. DC and Chicago are both full fledged victim disarmament zones so it's no wonder these cities have higher murder rates.

I'm sure we more then balance that out with more vehicular manslaughter. Gun's and knives are not the most dangerous things in the city.
